I`m from the U.S. and although I live in a state (in the U.S.) where marijuana is illegal, I use it daily to help me with my diabetes and severe anger issues. The fact that this plant is considered an illegal drug is criminal in itself. It is an herb brought here by our Creator that has health benefits unmatched by any other plant. For anyone who doubts it, they should order the book. Marijuana is the gateway to health and study the facts, not the propagated by government propagandists. If people around the world could be shown why this plant was made illegal in the first place, minds would quickly change, as they would see that it is nothing more than protecting the financial interests of the U.S. lumber and cotton industry. Although I haven`t smoked marijuana since I arrived in this beautiful place (Philippines), I haven`t had any withdrawal symptoms. Can the same be said for any of the prescription drugs promoted by the pharmaceutical industry around the world? Wake people up!! You are constantly being lied to to protect the financial interests of the world. This is an easily provable fact. Proving that marijuana has already physically hurt someone is impossible! Study the facts yourself and stop believing lies! Although Duterte is currently not eligible for re-election in 2022 because the Philippines no longer allows presidential re-election, some have indicated that he will remain very active politically in the coming years, meaning an uphill battle for any kind of legal cannabis market in the Philippines. But don`t ignore economic expediency as a determining factor for future legalization.

And don`t think the Philippines is the only country in Southeast Asia outside of Thailand that is seriously involved in cannabis. India is on the right track and Bangladesh will not be far behind. In 2017, newspapers quoted Duterte`s spokesman as saying he was open to approving bills to legalize medical cannabis. This likely inspired its passage in the third and final reading of House Bill (HB) No. 6517 (Philippine Compassionate Medical Cannabis Act). Unfortunately, this was blocked by the Senate in 2019 when Duterte changed his mind and said otherwise at a campaign event in Negros Occidental. A Business World reporter quoted Duterte as saying: “Marijuana – they are grown. I`ll give you the excuse to harvest for. They will say it is medical. Everything is medical. That would be an excuse.

I will not allow that. Not in my time… A pro-medical marijuana NGO called the Philippine Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (PORMAL) is trying to challenge the law to legalize its use, but there is opposition from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and senators such as Vicente Sotto III. PDEA states that marijuana is a gateway drug that can lead to the abuse of harder substances. Senator Sotto asked PORMAL to provide empirical evidence of the benefits of marijuana use. [10] The mere fact that marijuana is still illegal despite the support of the Catholic Church, while the HR law has been blocked despite the obvious benefits, shows how corrupt our government is, whether we like it or not, the illegality of marijuana is very profitable for the government, specifically for the police, which with the number of marijuana users and the money, which they receive through arrests, No wonder it takes so long to legalize it. That, and the fact that when marijuana is legalized, many commercial pills become obsolete, leaving pharmacies bankrupt when they realize it, companies then bribe senators to defy the law as best they can. However, I propose a solution to this: an honest, fact-based debate broadcast nationally for all Filipinos to hear, to lift the wool from their eyes and prove indisputably once and for all that cannabis is indeed more useful than harmful. I agree 100%. If they legalize it, they will make more money like the United States.

The government can tax it and make money. The herb is also very good in medicine. Has been shown to be very effective for many treatments. People who smoke weed are not criminals, weed is good for everyone. It`s more fun in the Philippines. Even the Catholic Church supports weed. It is not a drug, it is grown naturally. God gave us that. Please legalize it. The world is legalizing it. PDEA Director General Arturo G. Cacdac, said: “PDEA and FDA are jointly alerting the public that hemp oil products are currently strictly banned in our country.

While the benefits of hemp outweigh the risks, it is not yet legal or FDA authorized to distribute the product offered for sale on the market. The sale and supply of cannabis is also illegal and, as with consumption and possession, offenders are severely penalized. All cannabis, medical, recreational, CBD, etc. etc. is illegal, illegal illegally, and it may take a while for all of this to be processed (CBD in a low THC ratio of 1% could be allowed by the end of 2021, that`s my guess; Duterte said, “No legalization during my presidency). Drug allegations cannot be released on bail, so you have to wait a long time for your charges to be heard. The fees here are high for cannabis, even for small amounts. The rich get out of prison, the poor usually stay in prison.

Be careful with configurations, be dragons in the hills. According to the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, it is illegal to consume or possess cannabis in the Philippines. The law defines cannabis as a dangerous drug and provides for a sentence of “life imprisonment to death” and a fine of 500,000 pesos to 10 million pesos (8,831 to 176,625 euros) for those caught in possession of the following amounts: Sotto simply does not know how to think. The legalization of weed will hurt drug dealers because all legal products will be taxed. You won`t earn as much because legal distributors will come into the picture. I doubt that people will go for the riskier option. However, not everyone agrees with the Catholic Church. Some politicians have spoken out against the legalization of medical cannabis, others call it a “national disaster.” Senator Vicente Sotto claimed that the whole term was “misleading,” using a metaphor to illustrate his point: “You don`t declare an atomic bomb legal just because a small part of the bomb can be used to light up your home.” Although cannabis, including medical use, remains largely illegal, people with a serious or incurable illness can apply to the Food and Drugs Authority for a special permit for medicines that are not registered in the Philippines, including those containing cannabis. From the beginning of licensing in 1992 until December 2018, only one application for approval of the use of cannabis oil has been made.

[6] I am very sorry to hear about your situation. We are not qualified to provide legal advice, so I strongly recommend contacting a lawyer before transporting medical cannabis across borders. Good luck! Marijuana is not a drug, it is a Kraut.Es is an organic and natural gift from God. Alcohol and cigarettes are more dangerous than marijuana. And why should it be legal? THE GOVERNMENT SAYS: THE GOVERNMENT WARNS THAT SMOKING CIGARETTES IS DANGEROUS TO YOUR HEALTH,,,AND THEN??? Why should marijuana be legal, and marijuana is illegal,,??? That`s my big question, why the government still legalizes cigarettes and alcohol. WE ALL KNOW THAT CIGARETTES CAN CAUSE CANCER AND MARIJUANA CAN TREAT CANCER, TRY TO IMAGINE THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF CIGARETTES AND ZERO ALCOHOL IN MARIJUANA. GIVE THE GRASS A CHANCE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!! Marijuana is an herb just like tobacco, I don`t understand why they don`t make it legal when it has so many benefits for humans. Perhaps, if it is legal in the Philippines, people will stop buying cigarettes and cocaine. In Canada, THC is legal for relaxation and sleep deprivation or insomy. Both are before the House Health Committee for approval. HB 3961, introduced in 2020 by Congressman Luis Raymund Villafuerte, aims to legalize the local production and export of medical marijuana to make it more accessible and cheaper for Filipinos.

She also hopes to capitalize on the growing multibillion-dollar industry by pointing out that Singapore, China and Thailand – which already have very strict narcotics laws – act or will act as producers of medical cannabis, especially in light of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs` decision in late 2020 to remove them from their list of the most dangerous drugs. Cannabidiol (CBD), a non-addictive and non-psychoactive component of the cannabis plant.
