The Office of the General Counsel of Kentucky State University provides legal advice to the Board of Trustees, the President, and all entities of the University on matters affecting the University. Students automatically receive the legal services activity fee of $10.00 per semester when they enroll in courses per semester. For these basic fees, eligible students are entitled to open three (3) files each semester. Additional fees will be charged for the fourth (4th) and all other cases opened each semester. Fees for legal services are voluntary. Students may choose not to pay fees and thereby waive their right to participate in the program. Since the cost of hiring a private lawyer in the Toledo area ranges from $100 to $500 per hour, students who opt out or “opt out” of the legal services program could face significant legal fees if a legal problem arises. Students who do not pay fees for legal services are not eligible for services. If you`re a student at Kent State University looking for a lawyer in Kent, Ohio, you`ve found the right place.
